Republic of Tunisia International Prize for Islamic Studies
The Republic of Tunisia International Prize for Islamic Studies or World Award of the President of the Republic for Islamic Studies is an award given by the President of Tunisia, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali since 2003 to reward those scholars and writers globally who have made significant contribution to Islamic studies annually. The prize is usually given at Carthage Palace and the recipient is invited to meet with the president for the award ceremony.
==Recipients==

* First World Award -Awarded November 21, 2003 to Mahmoud Hamdi Zaqzouq, Egyptian Minister of WAQF.
*Second World Award -Awarded November 9, 2004, to Sheikh Habib Belkhouja.
*Third World Award -Awarded October 31, 2005, to Sergio Pallavicini,vice-president of the Italian Islamic Religious Community, and Imam of the Mosque of Milan.
*Fourth World Award- Awarded October 19, 2006, to Mohammed H'ssine Fantar .
*Fifth World Award- Awarded October 8, 2007, to Dr. Rekaia Taha Jaber Al Alouani, professor at département of Arab Language and Islamic Studies at the University of Bahrain.
*Sixth World Award, Awarded September 26, 2008 to Dr. Rawnak Hassen Hosni, professor at the University of Heriot and at the University of Durham, Great Britain and to Professor Daniel Newman, professor at the Modern Languages and Cultures school at the University of Durham.
*Seventh World Award, Awarded on September 16, 2009 to Spanish theologian Dr. Juan José Tamayo for his book entitled "Islam: Culture, religion and politics".
